Motorcycle Rental in Dubai: Complete Guide for Tourists

Dubai is a great starting point for exploring the UAE and Oman by motorcycle. From mountain roads and desert landscapes to coastal routes and weekend trips into Oman, renting a motorcycle gives you the freedom to experience much more than the city.

If you are visiting Dubai and planning to rent a motorcycle, here is what you need to know before you ride.

Can Tourists Rent a Motorcycle in Dubai?

Yes. International visitors can rent motorcycles in Dubai, provided they meet the licence, age and riding experience requirements.

At Trails & Dust, the minimum rider age is 25 years old, and riders must have experience with a motorcycle of a similar size to the bike they want to rent.

A valid motorcycle licence is required. European and UK motorcycle licences are generally accepted for riding in the UAE and Oman. Depending on your country of issue, an International Driving Permit may also be required.

If you are unsure whether your licence is accepted, contact us before booking and our team can check the requirements with you.

How Much Does Motorcycle Rental Cost in Dubai?

Our adventure motorcycle rental rates currently start from AED 790 per day.

Our motorcycle rentals include 350 km per day. Additional kilometres are charged at AED 1 per km.

UAE third-party insurance is included with the motorcycle rental. Optional additional insurance is also available.

Each motorcycle includes a phone holder, and luggage can be arranged on request.

Helmets, jackets and other available riding gear can also be arranged if you are travelling without your own equipment.

Is There a Security Deposit?

Yes. A refundable AED 5,000 security deposit is required per motorcycle.

The deposit is processed as a credit card pre-authorization and is released after the rental according to the applicable deposit conditions.

American Express is not accepted for the security deposit.

Can the Motorcycle Be Delivered to My Hotel?

Yes. Motorcycle delivery and collection can be arranged.

Hotel delivery in Dubai is available for an additional charge depending on the location. Delivery to Abu Dhabi and other locations can also be arranged.

You can also collect your motorcycle directly from Trails & Dust in Al Quoz Industrial Area 2, Dubai.

Can I Ride from Dubai to Oman?

Yes, but the required documentation must be arranged before your trip.

Crossing into Oman with a rental motorcycle normally requires a Power of Attorney and Oman insurance. These documents cannot be arranged at the last minute, so let us know about your Oman plans when making the booking.

Our team regularly assists riders travelling between the UAE and Oman and can help prepare the necessary motorcycle documentation.

Which Motorcycle Should I Rent?

The best motorcycle depends on your riding experience and the type of trip you are planning.

The BMW R1300 GS is an excellent all-round choice for road touring and longer journeys.

The BMW R1300 GS Adventure offers additional touring capability for riders planning longer trips.

The BMW F900 GS is lighter and easier to manage while still offering excellent adventure touring capability.

The BMW R12 G/S offers a different riding experience with classic BMW boxer character and modern adventure performance.

For riders looking for something lighter, the Aprilia Tuareg 660 is another excellent option.

Can I Ride Off-Road?

Off-road riding with Trails & Dust rental motorcycles is only permitted when accompanied by a Trails & Dust professional tour guide.

Insurance does not cover off-road damage, and any damage caused while riding off-road is the rider's responsibility.

If you want to experience off-road riding in the UAE or Oman, ask us about our guided motorcycle tours and riding experiences.

What Should I Bring?

Before collecting your motorcycle, make sure you have:

  • Passport
  • Valid motorcycle driving licence
  • International Driving Permit when required
  • Credit card for the security deposit
  • Appropriate riding clothing

If you need riding gear or luggage, let us know before collection so we can prepare everything for you.
