Basic off-road riding introduction course
This foundation course is ideal for anyone wanting to get into off-road motorbike riding. The courses are conducted over two hours on weekends – Friday and Saturday – and will give you a thorough grounding in basic off-road motorcycle riding skills in a closed-circuit environment.
Designed for non-riders, novices and absolute beginners in off-road riding, our experienced team will guide each rider through relevant aspects to become a safe and competent off-road motorcycle rider. Each rider will start with the basics, and then go as far as their skill, enthusiasm, knowledge and fitness will take them.
What To Expect?
Lots of riding exercises on loose surfaces and some basic motorcycle handling techniques.
You will get to learn the basics of motorcycle control that will help you with off-road riding. The key here is balance, clutch and brake control as well as getting to know your motorcycle better. You will gain a good understanding of riding a adventure off-road motorcycle and motorbike control, an understanding of the safety implications of riding an off-road motorcycle and the skills for some of the more challenging aspects of this activity.
Who it’s aimed at?
This course is aimed at people of all ages, who have either never ridden a motorcycle or have very limited knowledge and experience of off-road motorcycle riding.
An adventure/off-road capable motorcycle, boots, helmets, gloves, riding jacket and pants with armour or motocross armour worn under a jersey and pants.
We will always try to accommodate anyone who wishes to take part. You will need to be reasonably fit and mobile. No previous motorcycle riding experience is necessary. It is, however, important that participants are able to ride a motorcycle on-road and have a motorcycle license.
